Forget Dirk Leather, here's Jet Danger (TM)

Here he is! The protector of the Globalized America! Jet Danger, agent of R.A.N.G.E.R.!
The year is 2039. The Bush administration (Pres and VP Bush twins) have taken politics beyond cool. The Democracy is now the Hip-ocracy, and the Party never ends! Secretly controlled by the shadowy HOS/FBI supercomputer embedded with the brainwaves of Dick Cheney (that survived in his Nukler Pacemaker (TM)), the tabula rasa agent of R.A.N.G.E.R. will fight terror wherever it emerges. From the Great Glass Flats of Iraq to our own back yard, Jet will save the day!

Glad to finally see a Jet Danger pinup. His exploits have been a favorite of mine since I picked up the "When Wakes The Atomic Terrorsaur" issue, though I think he really hit his stride with "The S.I.N.I.S.T.E.R. Statue That Rocks Like Man" storyline.

I realize that the animated series made Jet a household name, but giving him Skip Freely, the Peril KId as a sidekick was just an embarrassment. I have to confess, I was glad it was cancelled — I'm happy to stick with the comics.

Don't cry for Skip! He got a great follow up gig hosting 'America's Funniest Foreign Invasion Goofs & Blunders'. The show ran, what, seven years without a repeat!

Also, remember that the 'S.I.N.I.S.T.E.R. Statue' issue heralded the growing art talent-to-be-legend "Emperor' Ernie Quinby, that defined the character of Jet Danger from that point forward. I loved his work on 'Nuclear Winter, Injun Summer' in the Jet Danger Giant King Size Annual.Noone drew Dick Cheney's pacemaker like ol' Ernie.
Ahhhhh, memories....
